Galway highlights: gaps and opportunities in sustainable wood use
In February 2026, the University of Galway hosted a highly engaging WoodStock co-creation session on the sustainable use and procurement of wood products. Participants from the fields of building design and construction, landscape architecture, procurement, and academic research joined a world café and round table discussion on key themes. The session identified gaps in practice, policy and budgeting that might limit greater use of (underutilised) wood in construction, and set the stage for upcoming co-creation sessions in 2026 and 2027.
