Building on history: hands-on workshop explores underutilised wood for ancient architectural design
A unique co-creation session, taking place at InnoRenew CoE and organised by Lodz University of Technology and Delft University of Technology, took its participants to the site of a uncovered Roman villa. The session took the shape of an architectural workshop, held in collaboration with the architects who will be designing the archaeological site plan, the entrance building, and the protective structure over the ruins. Through hands-on methods including model making, drawing, sketching and collage work, participants explored innovative ideas to support the use of underutilised wood in the architectural design process taking into account the NEB values of sustainable, beautiful and together design.
