the New European Bauhaus
The New European Bauhaus (NEB) is a European Commission policy and funding initiative that makes the green transition in built environments enjoyable, attractive and convenient for all. All types of European communities deserve living spaces that improve their well-being and sense of belonging. The initiative promotes solutions that are not only sustainable, but also inclusive and beautiful, while respecting the diversity of places, traditions, and cultures in Europe and beyond.
The New European Bauhaus brings citizens, experts, businesses, and institutions together to reimagine sustainable living. It creates a platform for experimentation and connection.
By creating bridges between different backgrounds, cutting across disciplines and building on participation at all levels, the New European Bauhaus inspires a movement to transform our societies along three inseparable values:
- sustainability, from climate goals to circularity, zero pollution, and biodiversity
- aesthetics, quality of experience and style beyond functionality
- inclusion, from valuing diversity to securing accessibility and affordability
